Derrick L Carter – Where U At (BHQ Revisionist History Edition)

Released from Classic Music Company in 2002 when it was run by himself and Luke Solomon. This truck was on B2 of the 12″ that came with me everywhere I played. It’s impossible to ignore the other two versions (Also, the acapella “Where Yaccapella?”!), but my favourite is this punchy remix.

The track respects the Chicago legend Ron Hardy and is based upon his edit of Kikrikos “Life’s a Jungle.”

Where is he at? He sounded at Mexican carnival on peyote 😀

Johnick ‎– Magic (Kenny Dope Mix)

In 1996, Italian-American DJs, Johnny ‘D’ De Mairo and Nicky Palermo Jr created the original track and handed it to the producers to create this EP (look at those producers who remixed!) Amongst all the remixes, this remix by Kenny Dope is an absolute standout. Similar to “Gimme groove” that he released with the name of Kenlou, samples from Minnie Riperton “Inside my love” are used.
